Partner selection schemes for cooperative multi-hop relay networks
In this paper we propose two throughput-oriented relay selection rules for multi-hop relay networks. Our rules can achieve higher throughput while maintaining reliability. We also adopt the total relay transmit power constraint to utilize transmit power more efficiently.
متن کاملHop Optimization and Relay Node Selection in Multi-hop Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks
In this paper we propose an efficient approach to determine the optimal hops for multi-hop ad hoc wireless networks. Based on the assumption that nodes use successive interference cancellation (SIC) and maximal ratio combining (MRC) to deal with mutual interference and to utilize all the received signal energy, we show that the signal-tointerference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of a node is determin...
متن کاملMulti-hop Multi-band Intelligent Relay-Based Architecture for LTE-Advanced Multi-hop Wireless Cellular Networks
In recent years, the cellular spectrum has become very crowded due to the tremendous success of mobile communications. However, a large portion of the electromagnetic spectrum assigned to other services is used sporadically only. A first step towards cognitive radio can be implemented in LTE-advanced networks by sensing the available frequencies and exploiting the existing radio spectrumopportu...
متن کاملInterference Reduction in Single Hop Relay Networks
The purpose of this paper is to determine the possible capacity increase in single hop relay networks, where mobile stations are enabled to serve as additional access points for other terminals. The total power used for direct transmission from a central base station to uniformly distributed mobiles is compared with indirect transmission using mobiles as relay nodes for different path loss expo...
متن کاملNew Approaches for Relay Selection in IEEE 802.16 Mobile Multi-hop Relay Networks
Abstract. The IEEE 802.16 mobile multi-hop relay (MMR) task group ’j’ (TGj) has recently introduced the multi-hop relaying concept in the IEEE 802.16 WirelessMAN, wherein a newly introduced relay station (RS) is expected to increase the network performance. In this context, we consider the problem of path selection where several RSs might exist between the base station (so called, MR-BS) and th...
